Christmas and the whole festive period is a magical time in Scotland, and provides the perfect romantic background for a dream Christmas wedding. If you are planning your wedding and want to make it a unique and truly special then this is why you should consider a Christmas wedding, right here in Perthshire, Scotland.

Scotland loves a party!
We Scots really know how to enjoy Christmas and Hogmanay (New Years Eve) and we even get an extra Bank Holiday Day on the 2nd January to keep the party going. So when you book a wedding venue here in Scotland, you know that we will help you to celebrate in style. If you get married at Christmas time, it is the perfect excuse to have fireworks, lanterns, candles and bonfires and to celebrate into the wee small hours.

Although Winter and December can be stunningly beautiful here in Scotland, the temperatures and weather can vary and so you need to make sure your venue is suitable for all weathers! At Millearne Gardens, we have plenty of outdoor spaces that can have chimineas or fire pits so that your guests can enjoy the winter nights whilst still being warm and cosy. All our weddings are held in marquees that are heated beautifully to keep you and your guests warm.
We also make sure that for all outdoor winter weddings we fully prepare for the elements and suggest items such as extra umbrellas for the bridal party, and blankets for the guests, plus carpets underfoot and heated toilets.

Christmas Decorations
Our gardens here at Millearne are stunning in the Winter as we are surrounded by so many trees that look wonderful in the snow and even though many trees have lost their leaves, we have lots of wonderful Christmas fir trees all around the estate. We suggest incorporating twigs, branches, and all manner of Christmas decorations into your Christmas wedding decor or add extra details like fairy lights to add some extra magical Christmas Wedding magic inside the marquee, or on your wedding tables. It is the perfect excuse to use Christmas decorations!

Christmas Bouquets and Flowers
If you’re planning a Christmas wedding, then you will have a gorgeous colour palette of reds, golds, whites, blues and greys to choose from for your wedding bouquets and centrepieces.

Wedding Cake
Instead of having to commission a wedding cake, just use a Christmas cake! They cost far less and you look just beautiful.

We hope this has made you consider a Christmas Wedding in Scotland.
At Millearne Gardens if you’re keen to take a hands-on approach with your unique wedding, you can of course organise all aspects yourself, and we will provide help as and when you need it.
But, if you’d rather have some help to make your ideas come to life, you can choose to work with well-known wedding coordinator, Kimmie Brown (of award-winning wedding consultancy LITU).
She can be there for you every single step of the way, from guiding you through menu selection to making sure everyone knows when to walk down the aisle. Kimmie, and the Piper family, treat each couple as if they were their family members and nothing is too much trouble. With their excellent attention to details, organisational skills and creative minds, we are certain you will have a very special and memorable Wedding day.
